Prophetic words are an invitation to a process. They do not happen aside from us walking towards what the Spirit of God spoke. I see people chase the next word from God when they haven’t walked out the first one. All prophetic words are for the future, so if God has spoken it, it is an invitation for you to enter the plans He has for you, and you enter it by committing to the process.
I’m reminded of the Israelites. God gave them this prophetic word:
Exodus 3:16-17 – “….I promise I will bring you up put of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perrizites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey.”
It came time for them to walk it out in Numbers 13:25-33, but here was their response in verse 31:
“But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!”
When it came time for them to do their part and take ground, they played down the word of the Lord that said, “it’s yours, go get it.” They exchanged it for 40 years wandering the wilderness. When they didn’t do their part, it didn’t happen.
What does this mean for us? There is some good news!
The great thing about God is what He calls out in us and for us, He doesn’t take back. It is usually us that lays it down. When you repent and choose to commit to make His plans your own, you will be guaranteed to enter your promise land.
Joshua 1:3 – I promise you what I promised Moses: “wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you…”
Joshua and Caleb were committed to the process and they entered just like God said they would.
