Carry Jesus’ Burdens Today

Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Are you serving the Lord steadily and feel that somethings in your life are STILL out of balance? Maybe a shift in perspective is just what you need in order to walk in freedom today!

Definitions:

  • Labor: To be worn out
  • Heavy Laden: To overload, heavily burden

If you’re worn out from being over loaded Jesus says ‘come to me!’ Take my yoke and learn from me.

You know, that’s just it. In the seasons of our life where we feel things are out of balance and heavy, we need to learn some things from Jesus. We need a change of perspective. Maybe we need a new wine-skin. Perhaps we need a complete overhaul. Whatever it is, He will speak to you Words that will shift you into a place of rest for your soul. All that is in your mind and heart, every way that you are programed to act and react will be brought into alignment when you allow it to.

Definitions:

  • Gentle: mild, gentle
  • Lowly: Low, not high, particularly of attitude and social positions.
  • In heart: Heart. The seat and center of human life.

He is gentle and low in the attitude of his heart. The seat and center of his life. From the calmness he carries on the inside of himself, he will bring rest to you.

A yoke is easy to understand. It’s the harness, of sorts, that you place around the necks of cattle so you can attach a load for them to carry. You know, sometimes in the Kingdom we are commissioned to carry big loads. But with Jesus yoke, they are never too much for us.
